Zero Can be Depressing

January can be depressing for sales people because many are beginning at zero. To help you feel more successful immediately, do a quick audit of sales that you expect to close soon and then list the hot prospects that are in your back pocket, too. Knowing your potential will help you realize that your momentum never stopped, even though you are beginning anew.

Did you get a FUD shot?

FUD is an acronym attributed to IBM for an illness called “Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt.” If you get this disease, realize that it will last for awhile but you can fight it – it just takes persistence.

Stagnant Sales Person

Are you a little bored with your job? Good sales people need ongoing challenges to keep them interested. If you are one of those, consider taking charge of your creative juices. Perhaps you'd like to hone your speaking skills. Toastmaster’s Clubs or Dale Carnegie Courses can help you do so. The secret is to focus on one area you'd like to change and then do it!

Increasing Revenue without Raising Prices

If your revenues are not hitting their target, try the three front offensive. First, have a sales process. Second, increase proven marketing efforts. Third, concentrate on successful products or services and eliminate those that aren't profitable. Working these steps together can lead to more dollars without increased prices.
