{"id":1582,"date":"2013-03-18T10:52:05","date_gmt":"2013-03-18T14:52:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.changinglanes.biz\/?p=1582"},"modified":"2013-03-18T11:05:39","modified_gmt":"2013-03-18T15:05:39","slug":"time-mangement-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.changinglanes.biz\/index.php\/2013\/03\/18\/time-mangement-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Time Mangement, Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Haven&#8217;t we all learned about time management?\u00a0 I know my book shelves are filled with books looking for the next best thing for managing the time we are given.\u00a0 One of my favorites is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0142000280\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0142000280&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=changinglanes.biz-20\">Dave Allen&#8217;s Getting Things Done<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Too often, Time Management is making lists, getting prioritized, putting the big rocks in first, using some contact management software, on and on and on.\u00a0 The one thing most of us forget is our human brains want to play each and every day.\u00a0 The brain thrives and grows with new information for example: people who drive a different way to work each day are more productive!\u00a0 The following list is a way to think about you and your grey matter between your eyes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>GET MOVING.\u00a0 Yes, if you want each day to be better, start by moving in the AM.\u00a0 This could be a walk around the block, stretching before your shower, or Yoga before breakfast.\u00a0 Research has shown that even 10 minutes will get more oxygen to your brain!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>KNOW YOUR PERSONAL CLOCK. Our internal clock lets us know when we think best, work best, relate best and handle the mundane best.\u00a0 If you are a morning person for verbal activities, schedule your networking then.\u00a0 If you are an afternoon thinker, plan accordingly.\u00a0 Even though you can\u2019t adjust everyone to fit your schedule, knowing our peak times means we will become mindful of our best time to do our best work!<\/p>\n<p>START WITH SOMETHING FUN. Most time management philosophers suggest that we do the task we like least first.\u00a0 Au contraire. Start your day with a task you enjoy first.\u00a0 That joy will easily follow to the next project or meeting and help you get more completed and be more fun to be around!<\/p>\n<p>RENAME THE UGLIES.\u00a0 In our business life there will always be tasks we don\u2019t want to do.\u00a0 On those tasks, ask yourself:\u00a0 Can I outsource it?\u00a0 I\u2019m I the best person to do this?\u00a0 Is this part of my responsibility?
