{"id":2523,"date":"2014-01-13T07:17:51","date_gmt":"2014-01-13T12:17:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.changinglanes.biz\/?p=2523"},"modified":"2015-10-04T23:08:39","modified_gmt":"2015-10-05T03:08:39","slug":"vision-what-are-you-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.changinglanes.biz\/index.php\/2014\/01\/13\/vision-what-are-you-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Vision = What are You Building?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.changinglanes.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/cathedral.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2524\" src=\"http:\/\/www.changinglanes.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/cathedral-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"cathedral\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is an old story about a stranger coming to town and she sees\u00a0three men with wheelbarrows full of rocks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>She asks the first man what he is doing and he responds rather sarcastically, &#8220;I&#8217;m hauling rocks.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>She asks the second man and he responds rather despondently, &#8220;I&#8217;m building a wall.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Now the third man when asked the same question answers enthusiastically, &#8220;I&#8217;m building a cathedral.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three people all doing the same task and each has a different outlook or vision.<\/p>\n<p>Some people when hearing this will say &#8211; &#8220;This is the difference between a pessimist, realist and optimist.&#8221;\u00a0 My view is\u00a0 we can all lean towards the optimist if we all know the vision.\u00a0 A business without a shared vision will often experience\u00a0problems from personal, financial to customer.\u00a0 Vision won&#8217;t solve everything, but it does help give many of us a reason to get up in the morning!<\/p>\n<p>So what are you building this week?\u00a0 A rock pile?\u00a0 A wall?\u00a0 A cathedral?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong><em><a>A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.<\/a>&#8220;<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0&#8212;<strong><a>Antoine de Saint-Exupery<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is an old story about a stranger coming to town and she sees\u00a0three men with wheelbarrows full of rocks.
